5-day Oystercatcher Trail Summary
Day 1
(Sunday or Tuesday arrival) Arrive at guesthouse in Mosselbaai or Boggomsbaai. Meet & Greet your Trail host at 18:00 and have programme discussion.
Day 2
Meet your guide at breakfast. Proceed to starting point of hike after breakfast. 15km’s on this day. Oystercatcher Talk. Official starting point is at St. Blaize cave. Contour path meanders along cliff edges and down to sea level. Magnificent and wild scenery. View dolphins and whales in season. Swim in safe rock pools. Hike past Pinnacle Point Golf Estate. Visit caves of ancient Hunter Gatherers. Experience the stark contrast between Stone age and present age living. Transfer to overnight at Sandpiper Cottages in Boggomsbaai.
Day 3
After breakfast at Sandpiper transfer to starting point at Danabaai. Magnificent beach walk of 13km’s to Boggomsbaai for dinner and another overnight stay at Sandpiper Cottages.
Day 4
Scrumptious breakfast. Follow rocky shore for halfway lunch, swim and snorkel at Fransmanshoek. Another invigorating and exciting walk along the edge of the sea, beaches, rocky shores and stunning, towering sand dunes. Ancient fish traps and stone age middens. Khoi San grave. Swimming, Snorkeling and shells, the order of the day. Dinner and Overnight at Kanon Cottage.
Day 5
Breakfast and a winding down hike to the mouth of the Gourits river. Transfer back to Boggomsbaai after a great walk and relax with a champagne brunch and sad farewell.
3-day Oystercatcher Hike Summary
Day 1
Arrive at Sandpiper Cottages Boggomsbaai, mid to late afternoon. Meet and greet and programme discussion at 18h00 at Sport and Wellness Centre. Fireside dinner.
Day 2
After breakfast depart with guide to Cape Vacca via Fransmanshoek. Fireside dinner/braai at Cape Vacca.
Day 3
After breakfast, hike to Gourits river. Return to Boggomsbaai by vehicle for a champagne brunch farewell.
