Arrival: at the WDH International Airport. Meet & Greet by an Abenteuer Afrika Safari Representative. He will assist you with your luggage and transfer you to the Heinitzburg Hotel.
Experience the hotel that calls itself "The brightest jewel in the land of gems". At Hotel Heinitzburg, we endeavour to complement traditional African friendliness and beauty with excellent European culinary art and a world-class wine cellar to make your stay with us a remarkable one. There is an undeniable charm about this hotel, enhanced by the romantic legend that is its background. Choose to sit in the calm of the shaded terrace or enjoy a sundowner cocktail, overlooking the magnificent Windhoek skyline as the sun bids the world goodbye. On hot summer evenings, lounge by the pool, enjoying a light show from a special underwater, colour changing light. Our A la Carte restaurant is considered to be one of the most magnificent gourmet temples in southern Africa. It is complemented by a well-stocked private wine cellar featuring a selection of fine South African wines.
Depart with a Charter Flight to Swakopmund where you will stop to refuel before continuing your adventurous Safari further into the Skeleton Coast.
After the stop in Swakopmund you will continue flying low level along the Skeleton Coast past the seal colony at Cape Cross for a light picnic lunch near the beach. Thereafter your flight continues over the desert the Ugab formations – a nearly lifeless “moon landscape” of numerous black ridges that stand out in stark contrast to the white desert floor. You will overnight at Kuidas camp in the Huab River valley. Ancient rock engravings are found amongst the rocks within walking distance of the camp.
Today you will be flown to the Mowani Mountain Camp Airstrip. Check in at the Mowani Mountain Camp. Here you will be staying the next two nights.
The main complex at Mowani consists of a reception, bar, dining room and a lounge which overlooks the waterhole. Accommodation is in 12 luxury East-African-style en-suite safari tents. The tents are built on raised wooden platforms, each with its own private veranda and great views of the Aba-Huab Valley. The Suite at Mowani is the ultimate retreat! Built high upon a rocky outcrop, the views from every room are spectacular! This luxury thatched suite comes complete with butler service and is tastefully furbished with a distinct African flavour. The private lounge is equipped with a music centre and satellite television, complimented by private dining and bar facilities. Staying at Mowani Mountain Camp, a traveller can easily join in an excursion to explore the historical site of Twyfelfontein.
After breakfast you will take a Desert Air Charter Flight to Little Ongava Camp. Your stay will include two nights.
Accommodation at Little Ongava comprises 3 spacious suites each with their own plunge pool, en suite bathroom, a “sala”, an additional outdoor shower and a view of the waterhole in front of camp. The main area lends itself to relaxed, stylish dining under an African sky or under thatch. Lion, Elephant, Cheetah, Gemsbok, Springbok, and Hartebeest can be seen at many of the water holes in the park. The Ongava Reserve has resident White and Black Rhino, giving guests staying at Little Ongava the opportunity to see both species. Guests at Little Ongava share a dedicated guide and Land Rover ensuring the optimum nature experience at one of Africa's great wildlife destinations.
Transfer to the Twyfelfontein airfield for your charter flight to Okonjima. Overnight in the Bush Camp Joumbira Villa. For the following two days you will take part in the scheduled activities offered from the lodge. Day at leisure.
Okonjima lies nestled within the unspoiled beauty of the Omboroko Mountains. In the Herero language, Okonjima means, “place of the baboons”. This is a private, family run guest lodge with luxury en-suite double rooms and a secluded swimming pool. Feel free to stroll around the garden, where you may encounter a variety of animals, which have been rescued by the AfriCat Foundation. You can also get in touch with nature on one of the numerous walking trails or follow in the footsteps of an Ancient People on the guided Bushman Trail - a truly African experience. For bird lovers there is a spacious bird hide within walking distance of the lodge, here you can see some of the 300 species that have been identified at Okonjima. Okonjima lodge is a home of Africat Foundation and located 2.5 hours north of Windhoek. Activities include leopard viewing. Wild leopards are fed every night - giving guests a chance to watch these magnificent predators from the safety of a hide. Viewing of leopards is NOT guaranteed, and leopards are radio-collared for monitoring purposes. Cheetah tracking and viewing: cheetah radio tracking is done by foot in a rehabilitation area. Orphaned cheetah viewing is included in daily activities. Bushman trails: experience a day in the life of a Bushman. Learn how they adapt and survive in an unforgiving wilderness environment. Nature trails: enjoy a walk in the wild. Similar to the sundowner walks, the trails have been made with varying degrees of difficulty ranging from very easy to more strenuous. These trails are guided or self-guided. Due to the specific nature of the new rehabilitation project, most cats on Okonjima are radio-collared. Sundowner walks: leisurely walks through the African landscape. These walks have been made with varying degrees of difficulty, ranging from very easy to more strenuous, giving everyone the opportunity to experience the beauty of Namibia at dusk.
Today your Journey comes to an end. You will be flown directly to the WDH International Airport. Here you check in for your connecting Flight Home.
