After breafkast at the Lodge, you shall be transferred to the Okaukuejo Airstrip for your Charter Flight to Opuwo. Upon arrival in Opuwo you shall depart on an Excursion to the Himba Village
Kaokoland is home to some 6000 Himba. These friendly people are closely related to the Herero and speak the same language. The Himba are herdsmen, breeding mainly cattle and goats while leading a semi-nomadic life. They migrate with their herds to the different waterholes from season to season. For the Himba, clothes, hair and jewellery hold a special meaning and form an important part of their tradition and culture. The proud Himba women spend many hours on beauty care and grooming every day. They cream their whole body with a mixture of rancid butterfat and ochre, scented with the aromatic resin of the Omuzumba shrub. The cream lends the body an intense reddish glow, which reflects the Himba ideal of beauty.
After Lunch at the Opuwo Country Lodge you shall be transferred back to the Airstrip for your flight to Swakopmund
After the arrival at the Swakopmund Airport you shall be transferred to your accommodation – Villa Margherita Guesthouse came to life in the well known old Schwietering Haus (built 1908) at the end of one year of careful renovation in March 2008. Enjoy a hearty breakfast at the Villa, before your will be collected for you Living Desert Adventure at 08h00 The Living Desert Adventure begins in Swakopmund, leads across the Swakop River towards the dune belt between Walvis Bay and Swakopmund which supports an impressive wealth of fauna and flora. The drive along the foot of the dunes is slow, taking precaution not to drive on the gravel plains and cause unnecessary damage. Conservation issues and the geological structure of the desert are discussed en route. The guide will stop frequently to look for tracks (known locally as reading the bushman paper), to determine which animals were active the night before and wherever possible, will try to catch some of them. Guides will share their knowledge about each desert animal, including adaptations and design for survival in the desert. Great care is taken to ensure each animal is returned safely to its home.
The tour ends at the Swakopmund Airport in time for your Charter Flight to Sossusvlei.
This luxurious desert resort was built with adobe bricks typical of Arabian villages and tents similar to those of the Bedouin. Guests can have a unique swim in the desert by splashing in the clear, cool pool. All rooms and the bar have a desert view. The restaurant has a fine German / Namibian cuisine and serve South African wines. Sossusvlei is accessible either by road or air.

Early morning excursion to Sossusvlei
Sossusvlei, Namibia’s famous highlight in the heart of the Namib Desert, is a huge clay pan, enclosed by giant sand dunes. Some of the spectacular hills of sand are, at a height of 300 meters, the highest in the world. Only after a heavy rainfall, which is a rare event in this area, does the vlei fill with water. As the clay layers hardly allow any water infiltration, a turquoise lake will remain for quite some time. The dunes of the Namib Desert have developed over a period of many millions of years
