Simply Namibia - Northern Loop 8 days
2 - 14 people
Departure is either from a Windhoek Hotel or Windhoek International Airport. Once the guests have met their guide, the tour begins with a road transfer along Namibia’s main highway connecting the country to our main harbor, the life line of the economy, to Swakopmund. Along the way the vehicle will stop at a typical road-side stall for a tea and coffee break. One of the en-route attractions will be Swakopmund’s Moonlandscape as well as the Welwitschia Mirabilis plant.
Day 2 is at leisure, we do however recommend a Marine Cruise on the Wavis Bay Lagoon. The tour guide will assist with the booking.
Swakopmund, Namibia's second biggest town and traditional "summer capital", is one of the most surreal places in this land of contrasts. One approaches the town through the endless expanses of the Namib Desert, one of the world's largest wilderness areas. It is known as the “Jewel of Namibia”, glistening in the sunshine, tucked between ocean and desert.
Located only 50m from the Atlantic Ocean and within walking distance to the center of Swakopmund, Beach Hotel is a combination of modern architectural style with classic furnishings. In addition to a fully glazed lounge there is also a roof terrace with a 360 degree view over the city, the dunes and the sea.

The tour will stop en-route to view the prehistoric rock engravings and paintings at Twyfelfontein – a UNESCO World Heritage Site - which boasts the largest known concentration of Stone Age petro-glyphs in Namibia with approximately 2500 engravings. Also in the area is the geological curiosity of the perpendicular slabs of basalt known as the “Organ Pipes”.
Damara Mopane Lodge
Built under Mopane trees in a wattle-and-daub style, and connected by a labyrinth of paths, the main building and chalets of Damara Mopane Lodge look like an African village. The walls are adorned by copies of the rock engravings at Twyfelfontein. The gardens supply fresh ingredients for meals, the swimming pool is ideal for relaxing and a there’s a view point for enjoying the beautiful sunsets and star-studded night sky.

Day 05: Enjoy a half-day visit to the Himba. The intriguing enigmatic Himba are the last truly semi-nomadic tribe in Southern Africa. They move their herds of cattle and goats vast distances over the sparse terrain to locate the necessary grazing for the animals.
Khowarib Lodge nestles on the banks of the Hoanib river in the magnificent Khowarib Gorge in north west Namibia. The immediate surrounding area of Damaraland has many rich and interesting activities including desert-adapted elephant and Himba settlements. Khowarib Lodge prides itself on the service provided by the local Damara people. A large kopje creates an impressive back drop to the reception, bar, lounge, dining area and curio shop. Visitors relaxing on the veranda enjoy a panoramic view of the gorge, cliffs and surrounding area.
